Darton DS-3800 Compound Bow

The Darton DS-3800 compound bow is a speed bow that has been equipped with some quality technological features to provide a reliable bow that should make it one of the leading new releases of 2011. The bow is powered by the DualSync (DS) Cam system and when it is combined with Mach I Quad limbs the draw cycle is nice and smooth. The parallel limbs means there is less shock and vibration and the laminated E-Glass skins used to manufacture the limbs enable exact tolerances and tensions to be applied and decreases the stress points for greater durability.

The riser is CNC machined from one piece of 6061-T6 aluminum and has a reflex design putting the bow grip behind the line of the pocket pivot points. This reflex design means the bow has a longer power stroke giving the bow its added power.

The handling of the DS-3800 is comfortable even with the aggressive nature of the draw cycle. The bow is relatively quiet and with the addition of string silencers could be made to be completely silent. It is a steady and consistent bow that has the important characteristic combination of speed and forgiveness.

What they're saying in the forums about the Darton DS-3800

The Darton 3800 is smooth to the back wall with virtually zero hump. Before you know it your at the back wall holding great. It is a speed bow, therefore you won't have 2 inches of valley. It is not like a cam and a half system, where if feels like it will rip your arm off.

Got the bow and overall I like it. Draw is smooth all the way back, small hump into the valley. Short valley like the Envy but 80% let off on the 3800.

I shot one and didn't care for it. I thought it was a little shocky on the shot. This needs to be said, it was a 29 and a bit draw and I'm 28.5" and may account for most of it. That is the worst thing I could find about it. Sure does group well! I shot Darton for quite a few years and you will find that they are easy to tune. My last Darton was a PRO2000. Took me awhile to get a string and cable set that worked. IBO on the 2000 was 320 and I had mine shooting 308fps. 56lbs @ 28" draw. The speed is definitely there!
