Darton Trailmaster Compound Bow

The Darton Trailmaster compound bow was first released in the late 1970s and, for its time, was a leader in its field shooting fast and flat. It stands as the first compound bow of many hunters who are still shooting today and you can tell by the respect with which it is referred it was an outstanding compound bow.

The advertised features of the bow included magnesium high energy wheels and a magnesium die cast riser. The bow is a Tru-Center Shot bow.

The Trailmaster went through a number of different iterations with various alterations made to the components as technological advancements were made. One of those was the use of solid Power-Tuff limbs which were said to have provided greater performance. The Darton catalog also states that these types of limbs provide a shorter axle-to-axle length but, when compared to todays bows, the 40.25" frame is significantly larger than what we are used to using now.

The Trailmaster was produced in a finish that was known as Woodland Park.

What they're saying in the forums about the Darton Trailmaster

The Darton Trailmaster was my first compound bow. Used it for many years, still have it.

I started out shooting a long time ago, and my first bow was a darton trail master. It was an OK bow, but I was never good at shooting with sights.
