Hoyt Havoctec Compound Bow

The Hoyt Havoctec compound bow was an extremely popular compound bow that featured the famous Tec riser and came in a number of different carnations, making use of a range of limbs and cam systems. This is a short framed bow that was designed as a hunting bow that delivered good power with minimal vibration. These days when you buy a Hoyt Havoctec you should be aware of the various components that each model was fitted with.

In 2002 the Havoctec was available with ZR 200 limbs and came with either the Command Cam or the Versa Cam. This particular version of the Havoctec was aimed more specifically to the hunter. The alternative was the Havoctec XT 2000 with the XT 2000 limbs. This bow was designed for either hunting or target shooting and could be bought with the AccuWheel Cam, Command Cam, Excel Cam or Versa Cam.

I had a 2002 Havoctec Versa last year that I would have been hard pressed to find a bow to beat it in terms of noise and vibration levels. Speed was decent and accuracy was slightly above average. But, then came the Razortec with the Cam and a Half. The new cam design is definitely more accurate for me than previous year's Versacam designs...though not by much.

I also have a hoyt havoctec...when I first purchased I noticed a little louder noise to this bow......
Since then I have put string silencers on and limb savers, tightened everything and since then have had not problems...Matter of fact, this is one of the nicest bows I have owned in this price range.
