Martin Hellfire 35 Compound Bow

The Martin Hellfire 35 compound bow has been created as one of the leading bows in the newly reformed Martin Archery range. It features a longer 35 inch axle-to-axle measurement for a more stable platform to base the bow’s performance around.

The bow is powered by the new Symmetry M4 cams that are a unique design and are completely symmetrical so that cam lean is prevented and there is less likelihood of string wear. To back up the cams system is a pair of split “Stackforce” Gordon Glass composite limbs. They are wider and provide greater flex so that even more energy is produced over solid limb equivalents.

The riser design features a series of 12 large cutouts to give it a sparse look. Additional strength is built in thanks to a bridge that spans the grip. Overall it has produced a relatively heavy bow but the additional weight that comes from the riser means that stability is increased and vibration is reduced.

As has been widely advertised with this bow, the draw cycle is very smooth right from the start and it builds up weight before it peaks at around the two-thirds mark. It then drops very smoothly into a large valley before reaching a solid back wall. The design of the cam system means that there is very little creep so it does not feel as though the bow wants to jump out of the hands.

Other features of the bow that have been built in to reduce noise and vibration include Limbsaver superquad limb silencers, riser dampeners, a Bowjax cable slide rod suppressor and multiple Bowjax super speed string sleeves.

The bow is available in a couple of different finishes. You can choose between the black smoke or the Kryptek Highlander and these options are made in what is known as the Kolorfusion finish.

What they are saying in the forums about the Martin Hellfire 35

The bow draws real smooth all the way to the wall with no 'hump' anywhere in the draw cycle. The wall is solid, and with just a little adjustment to the draw stops you can set the let-off where you like it. I had them set so the cams don't want to pull if you come off the wall a little at full draw. You can hold this bow at full draw for a while without having to let down. At the shot, the bow likes to rock back in your hand, so a front stabilizer would be helpful to eliminate that.

Martin calls it “the quietest bow on the market.” An independent sound lab found it was quieter than bows from competing brands. A new bridged riser with Wide Riser Technology actively cancels vibrations.
