Mathews Legacy Compound Bow

The Mathews Legacy compound bow introduced a couple of new advancements in technology in 2002 when the bow was first introduced to the market. As a means of making Mathews bows even smoother than ever before the use of string suppressors and a Roller Guard Cable Restraint were added to the bow. The result is a hunting bow that is one of the quietest and smoothest bows possible.

These days the technology that was first introduced in the Legacy has been picked up and used in subsequent bows but the fact remains that this is a bow that will still prove to be very comfortable to use.

One of the other features that was highlighted by Mathews when the Legacy was released was the parallel limbs of the bow which, the company claimed, were “even more parallel” than previous models. This, again, adds to the vibration reduction features of the bow as the vibration through the limbs cancelled out the closer they become to being parallel.

The Mathews Legacy StraightLine MaxCam was equipped with an Inertia DISC that was heavier than that which was used with previous perimeter weights and this was devised to create greater reduction in recoil.

The overwhelming message about the Mathews Legacy compound bow is that it is a bow that was designed as the quietest possible compound bow for its time. The constant theme seems to be for those contemplating a new bow to go out and take the bow for a test drive.

What they're saying in the forums about the Mathews Legacy

Love my Legacy and have no plans to jump on the Switchback band wagon. Now if I was looking for a new bow I would definatly look at the Outback and the Switchback before buying. You need to see what fits you best. The Legacy is a hair longer and maybe a little more forgiving for you. Try them all and then decide.

They don't call it the "Legacy" for nuthin. Great hunting bow. Gave "birth" to the Outback, Switchback/XT/LD

It is truly a great bow. Smooth draw and fairly quick for a older bow. Back in the day it was the cream of the crop. If you don't own a bow it is a great starter.
